Meet Cindy White
Cindy has 17 years mining experience at Jerritt Canyon Mine in Elko, NV and an additional 15 years alongside her husband Wes building Great Basin Safety. Cindy was fortunate enough to begin her career at the mine before they began production. She started in the HR department, typing departmental procedure manuals and learning the various department objectives. Cindy’s mining career included, HR secretary, Maintenance Clerk, and assisting the Maintenance Planner. While in the Maintenance Department she assisted in developing the Preventive Maintenance Program for both the Milling and Heavy Equipment, instituted and tracked the LOTO Program, as well as developed a program for computerizing the maintenance system for issuing workorders and tracking equipment hour meters for scheduled maintenance and servicing.Â
She later transferred to the Purchasing Department as Clerk and later Buyer where she worked on contracts for fuel, chemicals, wetlands, major equipment purchases as well as miscellaneous warehouse and process needs. Cindy left the mining industry for about 10 years before starting Great Basin Safety with her husband in 2005 and then becoming an authorized MSHA Instructor in 2011. Along with being an instructor, she does billing, scheduling, research and program development. She has attended classes for Maintenance Critical Path Scheduling as well as Fundamentals of Accident Investigation.
